Q: Why do I need an Internet presence?
The Internet can help you increase profits, reduce overhead, increase
market share, and improve customer service.
Q:
What's wrong with doing it myself?
Of course, you can create web pages with popular software? BUT if
you're after an interactive custom designed web site that will attract
new customers and keep your existing customers satisfied, professionals
like Web Else is the way to go.
Q: What's wrong with using one of those new online "cookie
cutter" do it yourself services?
Well, let me put it this way--do you want 1,000 other sites to look
just like yours because you used a template provided by an online
service, and simply slapped your company's name on it? You've worked
hard to establish and maintain a unique niche in your industry. Your
web site should reflect that individuality.
Q: What do I need to get started?
You will need a domain name, web site design, web site hosting, web
site promotion, and web site maintenance. A web-based business e-mail
address would also be a good idea. Clients wanting to sell goods
or services over the Internet will probably need a way to receive
payments (credit card or check) from customers on their web site.
Web Else is a full service custom web design company, and we
will be happy to provide these services for you.
Q: What do I need to do right now?
Complete Steps 1-5 on this site. Filling out our Free
Quote Form will give you an idea of how much your web site will
cost. We are able to give you quotes for our design packages, as well
as a Project completion Date (PCD).
Q: What is a domain name?
A domain name is your business identity on the Internet. Every web
site on the Internet is identified by a unique domain name. No two
names are the same. Examples of domain names are website.com, website.org,
website.gov, or website.net.
Q: What does it mean to 'register a domain name'?
There is a central registry of all domain names on the Internet. For
you or your company to use one, the domain name needs to be registered
in that registry. 'Registering a domain name' means you are associated
with that domain name for the period of the registration.
Q: What domain name should I pick? And should I pick just
one?
You
should pick a domain name you are comfortable with as your online identity.
Whether it is .com, .net, or .org, they all work equally well,
but .com names are the most popular domains used. It is not uncommon
for businesses to register multiple names and variations of desired
names (brand names, trademarks, service marks, etc.).
Q: What is a web host and why do I need one?
A web host is a company that stores web pages for their customers. Web
pages must be stored on banks of special computers called web servers,
that are specially configured to allow web surfers to connect and view
web pages stored on them. Web hosts offer you access to their web
servers for a fee. Think of it as renting space in cyberspace. |

Q:
What steps are involved in the web design process?
1. Choose
the material (documents and pictures) to be included on the web site,
and
where you would like
it to appear.
2. Complete
Steps 1-5 on this web site. Step 5 requires that you fill out our Free
Quote
Form so that we can give you an idea of how much your web site will
cost.
You
can also call us for an instant quote.
3. If
you are happy with the quoted price and choose to use our service, please
submit
the Service Agreement
Form.
4. Next
send in the initial web services fees: non refundable Start Fee (20%
of
your
design package fee), the domain registration fee (FREE for your first
year
only), your chosen web hosting plan fee (1 year in advance), and
your
web
site maintenance fee (1 year in advance). Remember, the Start Fee
will
be deducted from your design package flat rate fee. Web design
will
begin
as soon as we have your materials, the Service Agreement Form,
and
the above mentioned fees.
5. The
first thing we will do is register your domain name. This allows you
to
choose e-mail address's that match your domain. If you already have
a
domain
name, we will need your registrar's information so that we can do
a
domain name transfer.
6. We
will design the web pages for your site, and present them to you at
a Design
Review
Meeting. You will have an opportunity at the Design Review Meeting to
review
your web pages, and make any desired changes at that time. If you
request
changes, we will make the requested modifications and notify you by
e-mail
when your web site is ready.
7. The
final payment balance is due when you receive your final payment balance
bill.
We will upload your web site to the hosting server within 48 hours of
receiving
your final payment balance.
Your
remaining final payment balance includes 80% of the flat rate for your
design
package, plus any extra costs incurred during the design process.
8. We
will have your completed web site submitted to search engines and
directories,
so that everyone will know about your site. We strongly recommend
that
you consider a number of options to market your new web site off-line
(press
releases,
broadcast media, flyers, word of mouth, etc.). Having a web site is
only
one
part of your marketing strategy.
